The "suggestion" is "Place the picture properly so it doesn't spill to
another page when you print..."
But the reality of doing that is quite complex:
First, use File>Print and make sure "Printer" is set to the actual printer
you are going to use.
Now flip into View>Page Layout and drag the picture to where you want it.
Now use File>Print Preview to ensure everything stays where you put it.

If you're in Safari, keep hitting Refresh until you get the page, or use
another browser. Disregard the fact that the articles are written for PC
Word, the same techniques work in Mac Word.

Photo's are fine when viewed in word doc but they print out on a different
page under other items. The same oddity occurs when printing a pdf but all
looks fine on the screen.
Anybody have any suggestions?
