Photo Editor can't open gif file- help

Hello all. Microsoft Photo Editor on an an XP and on a
win 2k machine both get the message "Can't determine
type" when trying to open a particular .gif file. Tried
opening the file in Microsoft Paint and couldn't do that
either. Other gif files open in Photo editor with no
problem. I searched high and low on the Internet for
answers but didn't come close. All responses are greatly
appreciated

Likely that your file is corrupt. Have you tried another editing program?
