Photo Editor Minimized in Task Bar

J

Joe Bello

When opening .jpg files (usually attachments in Outlook
2000), Photo Editor opens minimized in the task bar.
Clicking the icon in the task bar will only change the
appearance of the button - it will not restore the window
so you can see it.

This has happened on several machines. In the past, the
trick has been to right-click the icon in the task bar,
select Move from the pop-up menu, hit the up arrow. Once
this is done, the window appears with the .jpg you
opened. After closing Photo Editor, it will work fine
from that point on.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix. I have
found nothing in the MS KnowledgeBase and now I have a
machine that will not "remember" the fix.

Thanks - Joe.

I seem to remember a fix we had was to move the
executable onto the desktop and run it from there (ie
remove the shortcut and copy and paste the executable
onto the desktop) once you run the executable any jpg
files should be run from that location. I dont remember
if this was a permanent fix.

Hi Joe,

When right clicking on the taskbar select the 'cascade'
choice, but also check the shortcut to see what setting
it has for opening the app.
