Photo Editor not talking well with Outlook Express?

Whenever I open a JPEG file, click on File/Send to send
the image via e-mail, this will happen:
a) Outlook Express opens
b) I type in the address, etc
c) Click "Send". The message is queued successfully in the
Outbox of Express. (great so far)
d) But when control returns to Photo Editor, it reports an
invalid page fault (see end of mail for dump).

I am running Office XP, Outlook Express 6, Windows 98 and
PhotoEditor 3.0.2.3
