photo editor wont open jpg

Photo editor has suddenly refused to open jpg files. MS says to install the
newest themes.exe file, but I already have that. I have winxp, office 97,
and front page 2002. Something got messed up. Please help.

What's the error message?

photo editor does not list jpg as a file type it can open. if i try to
force it to open it, i get "unknown file format"

Have you tried running a repair from the original CD?

yup i reinstalled and same issue. it's got something to do with a jpg
filter being messed up
