photo slides advance slowly

A powerpoint presentation made up of about 50 jpg photo slides, each
about 500K, moves very slowly. When i hit the advance arrow, it sometimes
takes a few seconds until the next slide appears. The show might go slightly
faster if I unlink the photos. Any way to speed things up here?

Each JPG file is 500k?

More than likely, that's WAY more resolution than you need. They shouldn't be
much more than the screen resolution you'll be displaying them at; 1024 x 768
or whatever. I'd guess yours are far bigger than that.

Hi,

The file size for each picture is quite large. There are a lot of ways
to do it, but if you saved each picture in 96dpi or 72dpi they will
display just as nicely, but will be a *whole* lot faster to display.

You can save the entire presentation as a series of pictures simply by
using File > Save As and choosing a file format (PNG would probably work
well for you).
