Photodraw: Can't find text menu

V

Vicky

Hello, I've just been trying out photodraw for the first time today and have
been following the built in tutorial. Everything seems to be working except
the text menu.
The only thing I can find labeled "text" is a large letter A on the visual
menu bar. When I click on it it just shows a 3d letter A in a little box
under it and nothing else happens. There is no workpane that opens that
allows me to type any text. Either something is wrong with this program or
I'm just not seeing any other way to use text.

Can someone please help me?
Thanks a bunch!

Apparently the entire text portion is missing from my program. I don't
suppose there's an old patch anywhere?

I haven seen PhotoDraw in ages, but as I recall, it works the same as MS
Paint. You click the "letter A", and then drag/draw a rectangular box on
the picture for the text and then start typing.

Thanks for trying to help, but it still won't work. I don't even have a text
icon on the regular toolbar and when I ope the formatting bar I don't have
the ability to format text. Nothing is there. Maybe I should uninstall and
reinstall the program.

Hi Vicky,

You may want to use the link below to also post in the MS Office Photodraw discussion group. Be sure to include the version of
Photodraw you're using (from Help=>About) and also the Windows version you're working on. Photodraw with various versions of
Windows and Photodraw tends to work either well or not at all :(

Unfortunately, when the creator of MS Photodraw and its predecessor, MS ImageComposer http://alvyray.com retired, it seems that
Microsoft chose to retire the Photodraw product line from Office as well, although MS has certainly not stopped working on the
future of graphics software.
