PhotoDraw Save As

I've been looking all over for help for this, but no luck. Hopefully someone
here can lend some advice.

I LOVE Photodraw, and am rather disappointed MS abandoned it.

For some reason, about a week ago, I lost the ability to "save as" a jpg
file in Photodraw!?!? I uninstalled and reinstalled, thinking that might
work, to no avail.

I really hate to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new program,
especially when Photodraw does EVERYTHING I need.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get my "save as" jpg back? (I
can still save as other file types, just not jpg, for some reason). I also
attempted to open my MIX files in PictureIt 9 (to save as there), but it
won't open those MIX files for some reason.

Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

When I had a similar problem with Image Composer a few years ago (I still use IC), I have to
reformat and re-install all applications.

There has to be a better way ... You're not suggesting that that be done are
you? I know it would take me days to get my computer back to 'normal' after
reformatting. I'd say it's to be avoided at all cost.... except for dire
circumstances!

I have found that it is a good idea to reformat at least once a year, as you clean up your registry,
remove all of the stuff that is not remove when you install and remove application that you don't
use or were testing, etc. and your system will run faster and better.

I normally do this each year between Christmas and New Years, but in some years I have done it twice
or more.

I have to agree with you ET, you should never have to reformat your HD
unless as a LAST RESORT.
In the old DOS days there was no choice. (actually there were a few recovery
methods from Dvorek)
Besides, whatever speed you gain will be lost in a week as crap will
continue to pile up as you use it.

Waste of time I think.

It was a last resort at the time, uninstalling/reinstalling didn't help, deleting all of the
registry entries and re-installing didn't help. Reformatting solve the problem.

So now I do it once a year, and the performance improvement is good for most of the year, unless I
start installing and un-installing applications or a bad update.

If I recall, I didn't have any real problems running Win95, but was happy to move to Win98 and then
Win98 SE.

I did start with Windows 1.0 and worked my way up.

It happened to me. I have NOT been able to find a stable fix. If you have,
please post.

Here's a TEMPORARY fix...

Download and save to your hard drive "Microsoft Office Converter Pack" (from
the MS Website).

If you already have it installed, uninstall first, then reinstall.

This seems to work for a while. After a short while (I have not been able
to figure out why or when), you'll lose the ability to save as jpg. When
this happens, uninstall the Microsoft Office Converter Pack and re-install.
(That's why you need to save it to your hard drive).

Hope this helps someone.
