photos in email sent to me in the body arrive as attachments

Senders tell me they sent it as one complete message. I get it with each
photo as a separate attachment. Why does this happen and how can I change it?

If they used Insert-> File... then it will show up as an attachment.
If they used Inset-> Picture... then it will show up in the message itself.

If you receive a lot of picture attachments and you want to view them in the
message body or as a slideshow, then this add-in might be interesting to
you;
