photos in publisher website file taking a long time to load on sit

I created a website in publisher with photos - the photos are taking a really
long time to load when i pull up the website. is there anyway to compress
the files to have the photos load immediately when they go to the site?

Jill,

Did you use an image editor to resize them to the dimensions you need
and lower their resolution to 96 dpi before placing them? Go here:
http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/index.html and type
in your url. It will tell you the size of the images and how long it
will your page to load.

Hi Mike,

No I did not - is this something that is included in Office 2003 or do I
need to buy that? I just started building websites and I am unsure of alot of
things. Like writing the HTML to have hyperlinks open in a new page.

You can use Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) to resize and resample
images. It's free!

As Mike said, it is best to reduce the size and optimize your images in a
third party image editing program before you insert the images into the
Publisher page. However, you can also compress those images from within
