photos resizing after insert???

Winxp, office 2k(word), PSP(Paint Shop Pro)

Have several digital photos (jpgs) resized using PSP to 4"w x 3" h.
Inserting into a Word doc and size changes to 3"w x 2.25"h.

I know I could play with size in PSP and get close to what I want in Word
but wondering why this is happening and how to correct?

Hi L.S.,

As a guess, when you saved the graphic in Paint Shop Pro the graphic did not include a specific pixels per inch (PPI) value in the
graphic. It's possible that the settings in PSP are 72 PPI.

When you inserted into Word 2000, when the graphic does not have a specific value in it the value in
Tools=>Options=>General=>Web Options=>Pictures would be used.

A change from 72PPI to 96PPI would produce a graphic size change of close to what you mentioned. If you change the above setting
in Word 2000 to 72PPI does the graphic size change? (You may have to reset the picture to have it take effect - right click on
picture, format picture)

That's it.....
You are correct. I saved photos @ 72 ppi. Don't need high def photos as
these are for inverntory/catagory control only.

Went to Tools=>Options, etc., etc. and reset to 72 and it's working fine.
Didn't know that even existed....

Couple of guys on the Corel PSP newsgroup will want to know this.

THANKS,,,,
