php and web components

I have a one page that has some php in it (mypage.php) . I have added a web
component that includes another file for my footer. My footer shows up in
preview, but does not show up in preview in browser and when it is published.
The web componet works on all the other pages (otherpage.htm).

Do you have any suggestions on how the web componet will work with a php
extension?

Which version of FP and have you installed all Sp for it
- includes for non html were a problem in FP 2003 fixed by SP1
