Pick up Word Cross References in Visio ?

Word does a fantastic job of keeping track of cross-references as the
document gets renumbered.

I have some Visio diagrams embedded within the Word document. I would love
to be able to add text such as "see 3.4.3" to shapes in the Visio diagram,
but to insert them in the same way as Word cross-references. That way, the
references on the Visio shapes would automatically update as the numbering
of the parent Word document changes.

Can it be done? How?

Thanks, Nick.

Hi Nick,

I'm 99% sure that this can't be done *easily*. As usual with Visio, you
could probably program something to get it done (argh!)

Yes, it helps! It tells me that I need to use the Word heading names rather
than the Word heading numbers within the Visio diagrams. They should not
need to change! Not quite as easy for the reader as he will need to "spot
the heading" rather than just going to a number. However, it will be easier
for me!!

Cheers
