Picture Captions and References

Hello,

I currently have pictures with captions that are "Figure 1", "Figure 2"
etc.

I have references to these pictures in my document, and this works
fine.

I would like my caption to say "Figure 1 -- This is how to do blah
blah".

However, when I add the "--This is how to do blah blah" to my caption,
then my *references* also say "See Figure 1 -- This is how to do blah
blah".

I only want my references to say "See Figure 1".

How can I do this? I can't seem to remove the field code from the
"This is how to do blah" part.

Thanks in advance,

When you insert your cross-references, make sure you specify "only
label and number" and not "entire caption". You will have to reinsert
your cross-references with this option.
