picture captions w/o 'Figure 1'

How can I make Word for Mac not insert 'Figure 1' into captions for a
picture (or how can I delete that label)?
I have searched and searched and can find no solution.

Pretty simple:

1. Insert a picture, right-click and select "Insert Caption…"

2. In the dialogue that appears, next to the Label field, there is a
button "New Label…". Select that and type whatever you want for the
label.
