Picture Format Conversion in InfoPath Xml

Bolek Wisniewski

Hello all,

I have noticed that infopath converts almost every image into a GIF when
saved into the form. I would like to get at the format that I input, either
into RichTextBox or Picture control (RichTextBox would be optimal). Is it
possible to get at the emf clip or at a wmf file that is embedded into an
infopath form? The clip is actually more pertinent to me. In the end, I need
to get information in vector format instead of raster image to send to a
webservice. I see that Word keeps emz format when saved to xml...is this
possible in infopath...if not I suggest it for future upgrades. For now, I
would HIGHLY appreciate any help on this subject. Thanks, Bolek

Sorry to bring bad news, but InfoPath doesn't keep the higher-quality image
format.. It won't address Rich Text cases, but you can use the file
attachment control to preserve the original format, and another picture
control to display it's value. Thanks for letting us know this was important
to you.

Thanks for the speedy response,

The attachment will be a big help...but clients would love to have quick cut
and paste functionality from exel and word...(while still keeping vector
information)...is there anyway for me to get at the clipboard...and if not is
there an opening where I can call Windows script? Thanks in advance, Bolek
