Picture format with Text Problem

Processor: Power PC

I have text that has been saved as a "picture," and as a result,
there is a box around the text that contains the block of text as a
single image.

How can I remove the picture formatting around the text?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

From what I can tell by our description you should be able to use the Crop
tool on the Picture toolbar. It reduces the amount of the picture displayed
without scaling the picture. See Word Help for more information.

If that doesn't provide what you need please try to give a more clear
description of what it is you're trying to deal with.

Thanks for the interest, Bob.
My email is (e-mail address removed)

If you would like to send me an email, I could send
a sample of this text to you as an email attachment.
This is the best way to see what I mean.

It would be a single page in Microsoft Word, and when
you click onto the page with a mouse, a box forms
around the entire page of text.

So far, I haven't been able to disable this box, but I have
been able to confirm with the MS Word software that the
text is being viewed as picture as a whole.

Thanks again.

Based on what I'm getting from your reply I don't think there's any need to
send me a copy :) You've pretty much identified the problem yourself but I
now have a better grasp of what you meant. You actually want to convert the
picture to editable text, and that you can't do - at least not with Word.

The image needs to be processed by Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
software in order to convert each element in the picture to an actual
alphanumeric character. If you have a scanner you may already have the
software necessary to do so. It may be able to create a text file directly
from the image or you may have to print the image then scan the printed copy
using the OCR software. Even so, the actual composition of the content may
not render anywhere near what you'd like it to be.

If you don't have access to OCR - and since it's just 1 page - you'd do
better to simply retype it yourself. I'm afraid just "disabling the box"
won't do it - if you could readily turn pictures into the real thing I'd
have a whole warehouse full of exotic [outrageously expensive] sports cars &
a beautiful woman to go with each one :)

Thanks for the input, Bob.
I'll make this work with ocr or another method.
The important thing is I'll stop trying to solve this
problem with Microsoft Word itself.

Thanks again.
Cliff.
