Picture in access

I am getting an error message when I try to put a picture straight onto a form from the insert menu. "A problem occurred while MS Office Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX control. Close the OLE server and restart it outside of MS Office Access. Then try the original operation again in MS Office Access". I have no idea how to do this.
