picture in margin on all pages

Just like a header or footer, I would like to put a "sider" into all of my
documents in the left margin. How can I accomplish this?

Anchor it in the header or footer. That is, have the insertion point in the
header or footer when you insert the picture. or insert the picture into a
text box that is anchored to the header or footer.
