Picture Manager and File formats Part II

Earlier this week, i posted a question about capturing images for use on my
computer. I pointed out that a) I used to be able to right click on any image
in any format online, then SAVE AS a Bitmap to my MY PICTURES folder. Later,
I could use this image. Based on the advice I received, I realize I may not
have been clear, and you may need more information.

With Office and Picture Managerinstalled, When I right click on a jpeg, and
click SAVE AS, I have only two options .art and .bmp. (my computer CAN read
jpegs, but for some reason, I do not get that option on the pull down menu).
I choose BMP, and save ANYWHERE on the computer. No matter what,
PictureManager opens it up and the image can not be viewed. It shows only a
small white box with a red X in it.
Paint does not recognize it as a bmp, so I can't open them there.
Picture Manager seems to recognize jpegs--the stock photos there are jpegs.
I guess the problem may be with settings in Windows save-as? How can I get
Jpeg to be recognized as a format that I can save in?

Your Internet Temp folder is full, in the Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options,
delete files.

I cleared the cache, the history, and the temp files and still have no
success. I''ll try to give you more info: After it "saves" to picture
manager, a generic picture manager icon appears in the pIcture manager. It is
a rendering of a sheet of paper with a sailboat in front of a sunset. On the
top left corner of that is the MS Picture Manager logo. If I doble click on
it, a Picture Manager edit page opens and the image is a white box with a red
x.

All of the other images in this folder Appear as the icon.
