Picture Manager disappeared...

I downloaded the visio 60 day trial and when i uninstalled it it deleted my
picture manager. How do i get it back?

It did. Everytime I opened up a picture the visio product key entry window
would pop up. I looked online and it said there was a product key given to
you when you first installed the trial, which i don't remember seeing. so i
uninstalled it and went to open up a picture and it was gone.

There's no correlation between the two. Why do you think it's deleted?

Something messed up your file associations.

Have you looked for the program? Start - All Programs - Microsoft Office -
Microsoft Office Tools

The same thing happend to me when I unistalled a full version of FrontPage
2003 (That I paid for).

And yes, I have done an exhaustive search through my hard drive trying to
locate anything associated with Picture Manager, and cannot find a thing. I
tried going into the MS Office 'repair' installation deal, that didn't bring
it back. I have gone into the MS Office setup, and went to just re-install
it, but it was not an option on my list.

How can we get this back?

Erica: I found a solution

You need to trick office into thinking that it needs to be reinstalled,
without reinstalling office.

Follow this procedure:

1) Start -> Control panel -> Add/remove programs
2) Scroll down to MS Office, Highlight it and then click "CHANGE"
3) Select "Add/Remove features", Click "Next"
4) Check the box that reads "Choose advanced custimazation of Applications",
click "Next"
5) Scroll to the bottom of the list and click the "+" sign next to "Office
Tools"
6) The 3rd item on that list is "Microsoft Office Picture Manager", click on
the down arrow next to that name and select "Installed on first use"
7) Click "Update" on the bottom of that dialogue screen, and office thinks
it is updating itself.
8) Now, go back into that same window following procedures 1-5, then instead
of selecting "Installed on first use" for step 6, slect "Run All from My
computer", click "Update".

Now you should be able to navigate to it through: Start -> All Programs ->
Microsoft Office -> Office Tools [Provided you have not changed the location
of that folder in your start menu]

This fixed it for me without having to completely reinstall office.
If you have questions, Please let me know, I'll check the little box on here
that will e-mail me if you reply.

Good luck!!

Thank you Rick! I had the same issues described above happen to me when I
uninstalled a trial version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. Your
solution worked, and I can once again use Picture Manager.

JoAnn,

We removed Visio and FrontPage from a number of PCs here in the Office
recently and several of our staff noticed that the Office Picture Manager
disappeared. It was not to be found anywhere on the computers, not in the
Start Menu in the area you've described or anywhere on the hard disk (we did
not alter the default path in our Office installation). It is not a file
association problem either. There is definitely a correlation between the
Picture Manager and Frontpage or Visio that needs to be investigated.
