Picture Manager Settings

I have seen and understand how to delete the "recently browsed" files from
the picture manager display after a search for all pictures. Is there a way
to prevent these from showing up at all when I do a search? I am looking for
a default setting, not something I have to re-do every time I want to find my
"real" pictures. Typically, I have over 100 - 200 logos, buttons, screen
shots, and thumbnails that clutter the result. I would like to avoid those.
