Picture Manager - slow to launch

It takes 3-4 minutes for my Picture Manager app to launch (Office 2003). Is
this normal behavior for this app? Are there known conflicts or bugs that
may be causing this? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I can't imagine MS releasing an app that takes so long to load, so I'm just
trying to determine if this is an app issue, a conflict, or some undiagnosed
problem with my PC. (I've downloaded Picasa2 and IrfanView, which launch in
a flash.) Thanks.

My guess is that you have put in shortcuts to locations that either no
longer exist, or are otherwise not responding when Picture Manager tries
to show all the pictures you "have". Try removing the dead links and you
should see improvement.

Thanks, Bob! That is exactly what is happening. There is a picture shortcut
linking to another network PC. That other PC is turned off most of the day,
so when I try to open Picture Manager the app must be searching for those
folders/files. (Now to figure out how to remove that link.)

Just r-click on the Shortcut and select remove shortcut.
