Picture position within columns

Hi,

I'm trying to centre a picture in one of three columns on my page in
Word 2003.

I've gone into Picture Format (set to square)>Layout
tab>Advanced>Picture Position tab and set Horizontal position to
alignment/centered/column (or margin) and set Vertical position to
alignment/bottom/line.

My picture is in the left most column, and after the formating, my
picture ends up in the centre of the page. Does anyone know how I can
centre it in the left column under the text I want?

I have a lot more pictures to do in a catalogue I'm preparing and would
really appreciate some help to this frustrating problem.

Thanks and have a good day,

Michele

Hi Michele,

I also use Word 2003.

I believe that if you are setting your picture's horizontal position as
centered to margin, it may end up in the middle of the page. If you
try to center it horizontal to "column", what happens? Does it still
not sit centered within the column you originally inserted it in?

Thanks Karen,

I realized that what you said does work (and it helped), but only some
of the time. I have other images (and text boxes) that still jump
around even if you center them horizontally within the column.

I'm not sure why that is because I've checked every setting I can think
of and can't find the difference between images that jump around and
ones that stay put. Even the image size is the same.

But alas, I've struggled through and got them where they're to be so
I'll have to leave that as one of life's mysteries.

Thanks for your reply,

Michele
