Picture Printing Prolem

Hello,
I have Windows ME, MS Small Office XP and I am
experiencing problems with printing certain pictures (jpg
format). I have inserted digital pictures in Word document
and some pictures print cropped and some print as series
of horizontal lines. I have also experienced this while
inserting pictures into Excel.

I have HP deskjet 952c printer and contacted HP email
support. After various tests, it was determined not to be
hardware. I was instructed to print tests with Wordpad and
text in black, and primary colors printed fine. I also
inserted file with two problem pictures into Wordpad and
the pictures printed fine.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?
