Picture Problems

I was adding a "text" tag to a few of my pictures and then decided I didn't
want to do that, so I deleted the text and saved the page. Now, I can not
add any pictures to any page. They will show up on the design screen, but
when I upload the website, the pictures come across as an empty box with a
red X in the top right corner. I have no idea what happened or how to fix
it. Can anyone help?

The images that don't display have a space in the file name. Example Picture%20536.jpg

The space is what causes the %20 you see above.

Remove the space or replace it with a dash - or underscore _

Also you "really" need to use an image editor to resize / resample the images to the actual size that you want
to display on the pages.
The free IrfanView will do this for you www.irfanview.com
Just save the resized one with a different name and the original will be untouched.

The reason I say this is that the images on the projects page total over 7 mb and the page takes forever to
display,
even on my high speed DSL line.

Below are some stats on how long it will take the page to load over a dial up connection.
Unique images: 19 Total images: 19 Total bytes: 7150915

Image loading will take about:
4336.76seconds @ 14.4
2168.38seconds @ 28.8
1116.32seconds @ 56K

Your top four pictures seem to be missing from your server. They are also
named with spaces in the file name which may affect proper viewing. Rename
Picture 20111.jpg, Picture 20536.jpg, Picture 20362.jpg and Picture 20457
with an underscore instead of a space (e.g., Picture_20111.jpg,
Picture_20536.jpg, etc), reimport them into your web and update your links to
the new names.

Thank you for your help. I change the name of the pictures and removed the
spaces, however they are still not appearing on my site.

Thank you also for the info about the site and how slow it is. I am
painfully aware of it but had no idea how to fix it, so I really appreciate
your information!

I just have no idea why i can't see the pictures on line, but can see them
in the design field. There is no way it has something to do with when I
was trying to add text to the back ground of a picture in case someone's
website wouldn't load pictures? That is the last thing I was doing before
these went south on me.....

Steve, please ignore my last post.... somehow I managed to figure it out.
When I "uploaded" the page to the web, for some reason the pictures weren't
going with it. So I uploaded the pictures individually, then the page, and
it worked. I appreciate all of your help!! Now I will work on properly
sizing the pictures!!!!!!

You need to use File Menu | Publish Web / Site w/Change Page Only selected and not the function that
allows you to upload individual files.
