Picture Proportion During Printing

I have inserted a picture into my worksheet. The picture is square (height
and width are the same). Under formatting I indicated under Size that the
aspect ratio is Locked and under Properties I indicated "Move, but don't size
with cells".
When I print the worksheet the picture is NEVER square. The height is
always reduced by about 8%.

How can I keep the picture square?

Try increasing the height by 8% before printing.... A lot of printers are less than ideal.

I have the same problem, and I disagree with your answer. Picture distortion
doesn't occur when printing from any other application, so the fact that it
occurs with Excel indicates a shortcoming in the application. I am using
Excel 2003 and I am placing a .png (which is our client's logo) over the top
row, which is frozen and appears at the top of each page. I chose to format
it this way (rather than putting the picture in the header) so that the user
can see the logo when viewing the worksheet onscreen. Also, I have more
control over the positioning if I place it onto the worksheet itself. Size,
proportion, and placement are critical to the layout in order to ensure
consistency with our client's other documents. Also, your suggested solution
would cause the logo to appear distorted while viewing on screen. There must
be a solution to prevent distortion while printing. Please advise.

Excel, (pretty much every version) does not "lock" the aspect ratio of
printed items. You may compensate for it yourself, or use a different
application.
