Picture resolution

Hello out there!
when I insert a picture, I always have to right click on picture then format
- size and click on best scale for slide show and select 1024x768..but I want
to have this option as default for all pictures which will inserted, is it
possible? if how do I change?
(today when best scale is not selected it seems that 640x480 is default)

I don't know that this is possible. If you resize your photos to 1024x768,
they should come in at that size, though.

But it really ends up being more complicated than that for a whole bunch of
reasons I think I understand but would be hard pressed to explain.

What I'd suggest is you download and install the free PPTools Starter Set to
make this less painful. http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/

Now set one picture to the size and position you want it. Select it, and
Ctrl+click the "position memorizer" tool on the PPTools Starter Set toolbar
to change the settings the memorizer will memorize. Click the center
Alignment option and the Resize option. Click OK to close the dialog. Now,
with the picture still selected, click the "position memorizer" tool again.
(Just click, don't CTRL+click this time.) This time it's picking up the
settings from the picture you have selected.

Now insert your other images. Select one, then hit the hammer on the PPTools
Start Set toolbar. The hammer places the pix based on the settings picked up
with the position memorizer.

Alternatively, you could use some of the batch import options, but that
seems overkill when just inserting the odd picture here and there.
