Pictures cover header

I have a picture file, which is covering my header.

It is set 'behind text' and I can type across it, but the header disappears
below it.

Help!

Your formatting approach is correct, but... In order for Header/Footer text
to overprint the image the image must be in the Headed/Footer "layer" of the
doc- you have it in the text layer. Cut the image, go to View Header &
Footer, paste the image in there & position as desired.

Note, however, that if this is a multi-page doc the image will appear on
each page just like the header text, so you will need to employ a section
break if you don't want that to occur.
