Pictures disappear in Word

i have had this problem since i got the pc brand new
i make a word document and ad a photo in the document.
if i scroll down before or after i save it or any other time i look at the
document the pictures disappears.
if i minimize the document and restore it. poof there it is but if i scroll
up or down they are gone.
i have been dealing with if for a while and today i snapped please help me
in fixing this.
i have Office 2003 sp2

Almost certainly this is because you have lost use of your Shift Key. Have
you tried a different keyboard?

how does hitting the shift key fix this
and "aalaan" i have no idea what your talking about
