Pictures display as icons on MS Access 97?

Hi

I have a database created in Access 97 that uses bound OLE objects on a form to drag and drop JPG photos into...however, I can't get the pictures to display, only an icon. I am running Windows XP, and I have tried registering JPEG with different programs, including MS Paint and Fax and Picture viewer...but no luck...any ideas?
