Pictures don't show

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I use Insert > Picture > From File and choose a JPG or TIF file.

The picture shows.

Later I open the document again, and the picture doesn't show.

Double-clicking does nothing. Context-clicking > Format Picture or Edit Picture sometimes (not always) causes the picture to show after the Edit Picture window or the Format Picture dialog is closed.

Word menu > Preferences > View > Show > Image Placeholders checkbox is cleared.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Gregg -

In addition to what you've already done make sure you *do* have a check in
the box for Drawings & that (if the images are In Line) you do not have the
line spacing set to an Exact value that doesn't accomodate the height of the
image. Also, don't forget that floating graphics don't display in Normal or
Outline view.

Thanks, Bob.

I do have Drawings checked, and I almost always work in Page Layout view.

What about the In Line/Line Spacing? If not In Line what type of Text
Wrapping is being used?

Is this occuring in all docs or just one in particular?

I'm starting to wonder, also, whether there may be an issue with Office X &
Leopard. Is the OS at .0, .1, or .2 ? Is Office updated (10.1.9)?
