Pictures edited with Word.Picture.8 do not display AutoShapes

Drawing inserted or modified (when created with a previous version of MS Word
2003) do not display AutoShapes parts when returning to Word w2003. Texts
appears but any lines, squares or colored shape are not visible when closing
the edit window of Word.Picture.8.

I checked of course the correct settings of Word options for "Picture
placeholders", "Object anchors" and "Drawings". I also played and decreased
the hardware acceleration without success.

I reinstalled Office 2003 without getting it improved, even if I deleted
before reinstallation many Office keys in the registry.

Could somebody help?

Thanks,

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

Can you provide the steps you're using where you see this occuring?

Hi Bob,

The Word settings I used: in Options, Edit tab, I selected "Microsoft Office
Word" for the Picture Editor. Then, in Word, I use the "Word Picture" icon to
insert a drawing in-line with the text (you may have to add it from the
"Customize" menu).
Note that using "New Drawing" from the Insert Menu under Picture, you do not
get a { EMBED Word.Picture.8 } drawing window (but a { Shape \*MERGEFORMAT }
drawing).
Once in the new window (of Word.Picture.8), I make the drawing (or edit an
old one). Returning to the document in which the drawing is inserted
(pressing Close Picture button in the edit window), the autoshapes are
missing from the inserted picture.
