Pictures from Internet downloads disappear.

When I save an internet page as "Web page (complete)", and then open it in
Word (to edit it and get rid of rubbish usually), any pictures show OK,
however if I save the file as a .doc file, and take it to another computer,
the pictures are gone (because they weren't there in the frist place I
guess, just the link to the .html file pictures).

Is there an easy, quick way, of pasting the pictures in the document, rather
than having a link, so the document is transportable ?

Thanks folks.

Are you aware that those pictures are protected by copyright? If you are
allowed to do that, I would think the owner of said copyright would give you
whatever you needed to do your work.

(Not playing 'Net police, simply stating a fact.)

I don't doubt that you may well be correct (especially considering the
stupid state of copyright laws, esp. in the Western world), but (without
wanting to get into an extended discussion) if I look at the web page on my
PC, I presume that's OK, but if I print it, then it's a copyright
infringement ? Bizarre......

That's pretty much it (or close enough). I didn't write the laws. I just do
what I can to function within the laws.
