pictures from PC to Mac in Powerpoint

I created a portfolio on my PC for job interviews. I have recently purchased a MAC and when I try to open this powerpoint file everything is fine except the pictures do not show up. If I click where the picture should be I can see the white resizing boxes, but still can not see the picture. What can I do to fix this? Also, once I have fixed it if I make changes on my MAC and burn the portfolio to CD's to distribute, will people using a PC be able to see my work? Help!!!

When you inserted the picture into your presentation, you may have
only created a "link" to the original picture and not embedded it in
the presentation itself. Then when you moved the presentation to a new
computer, it could not find the pictures. You can reinsert the
pictures. From the mac, make sure "link to file" is NOT checked when
you reinsert the picture using insert> picture> from file.
Also, once I have fixed it if I make changes on my MAC and burn the portfolio to CD's to distribute, will people using a PC be able to see my work?

Whenever distributing a file to someone, you are not sure what
programs they have available or what platform they are using. So make
a PDF, which will be more universally viewable, which is easy to do
from a mac. File> Print> then click on the PDF button in the print
dialog box and click save as PDF. This trick works from any program,
not just PowerPoint.

How exactly did you insert the pictures on the PC?

The only reliable method is using Insert, Picture, From File.

Click'n'Drag / Copy'n'Paste / Lock'n'Load'n'Catapult / A'n'ything else is
liable to break.

You could try this as a test: go back to the PC, open the file, select one of
the problem pictures and ungroup it. If PPT barks about it being .. well, if
PPT barks about anything, tell it "Yes dear. It's ok. That really IS what I
want to do."

See if that makes a difference back on the Mac.
Also, once I have fixed it if I make changes on my MAC and
burn the portfolio to CD's to distribute, will people using a PC be able to
see my work? Help!!!

Suggestion: Save yourself some hair. Since you have a PC, if you need to send
the file to PC users, create it on the PC and leave it there. And once you
have it working on Mac, do the same there for recipients who use Mac.
