Pictures In Word

I make large documents with basically 1 large picture per page. When my
documents get large i find that all-of-a-sudden some of the pictures are gone
and have been replaced with little boxes (about 1cm by 1cm).

If i right click these boxes the format object option is greyed out. They
look like you can adjust their size but it won't let me.

I am running Windows XP (upgraded from 98) and Word 2003 (upgraded from 2000)
p3 500mhz 256 Mc RAM.

Where did my pics go?

Hello
What method are you using to capture the graphics? Are users having this
this problem when using MSPaint to crop a graphic prior to inserting it into
a document? We now use a product called Hypersnap and problem has gone away.

The pictures are scanned and inserted using Insert picture from file in Word
2003.

Hello
Try inserting the pictures using your normal method. Then 'Copy & Paste
Special' choosing JPG or GIF. This method will also help with compression and
reduce filesize.
