Pictures in Word

When I create a Word document with a picture in it and send it to someone with Word for Windows, that person cannot view it because it requires Quicktime. How can I have Word save it in the "old" format so people with a PC can view the picture?

A couple of things that should help:

1- Use graphic formats that are compatible on both Window & Mac OS - jpg,
tiff, png, eps, etc. and

2- *Never* paste an image into the doc - Use the Insert> Picture> From File
menu command.

Other than those suggestions I can't tell you any more because you haven't
told us anything more, such as...

What version of Word on the Mac / On the PC?
Which OS versions?
What type of image?
Method of insertion?

I am using Office 2008 for Mac and OS 10.5.2. Windows people have Office 2003.

When I create a diagram in PowerPoint, paste it into a Text Box in a Word document, save, and then it to Windows, they can not see the diagram because it requires them to have Quicktime.

In the old version of Word they could see all the diagrams created this way. How do I tell Word not to save in Quicktime format?

Hi Scott,

Please let us know the following information to narrow down this issue.

- Which diagram are you using in Powerpoint?
- How do you paste the diagram in Word (regular paste with/without paste
options like keep source formatting, paste special etc)?
- What is the document and text box content (text/styles/tables/other
objects)?
- What is the format in which document is saved (doc/docx/rtf/other)?

In addition, it would be really helpful if you could send me the document
(or create a dummy doc) as I can't reproduce this behavior on my machine. I
tried opening the document with text box containing SmartArt object in both
WinWord 2003 and 2007.

Thanks,
