Pictures Missing Site

After uploading my site to geocities, some of the pictures are missing. I
can see them in FrontPage design, preview and internet exployer. They
disappearing after uploading. What could have happened to them? And, I
asked a question earlier today about words moving around...didn't get it. Do
I go to the code page and delete spaces )(*&@#$%^& I don't get this one.
Here is the site. www.geocities.com/mymymymyra/

If you click on the subjects in the menu, 2 pictures are there and 3 are
missing. By the way, that lemon cake is scrumptious.

Thanks for help!

First remove the spaces from the .gif filename.
Did you import these pictures into FP? if not you will need to do so for
them to display properly.

You need to rename all pages/files that have spaces in the file names (they
will appear as %20) while you're at it stick to lowercase file names.

Then you have to fix all your Home page links - your home page is index.html
not index.htm.

Beside everything else, make sure the file name and the link are both in lowercase.

Okay, I made all of the letters lower case and took out the spaces in those
names. Am I supposed to take out all of the spaces in this entire string?

<img border="0" src="shortbreadcookiesinbirchbox.gif" width="320"
height="240"><br>
</font></p>

Do I take out the spaces after the quote in "0" and then after the quote in
..gif." Are you referring to those spaces. I'm confused!!!!

Also, I'm afraid to change the index.htm to index.html. The last time I
tried to do that, I got a bunch of garble...this is garble (#)(*&^%$#@#$%^&*)
on the entire site. I lost everything. Are you sure I can change the name
to index.html without losing anything?

You just want to change the names of the images and other files, don't muck
with the html. No you don't want to take out the spaces in the html.

Do it in Folder List - easier and safer.

Just go through your images folder and rename every image file that has a
%20 or a space in it....you can use underscores if you want to.

FP should make corrections to hyperlinks automatically but for good measure
I always do a Tools | Recalculate Hyperllinks before Publishing - if I do
lots of file name changes.

If I type the same information into the page without a picture, will the
picture show up? Where did this...store1.yimg.com...come from? I inserted
all of the pictures the same way, from the same file. I'm baffled!

In 1972, my dad would sit at the breakfast and dinner table talking about
Cobalt, Dos and other things that I knew nothing about. I was busy
graduating from highschool, and he was taking computer classes. At the time,
I thought he was a little crazy but now as I think back, I could kick myself
for not paying attention. In 1994, he died, he was 77. The last thing he
mumbled to me before he took his last breath was, I will desparately miss
you, the internet and what's to come! I just wanted to share that with all
of you that have helped me thus far. If my dad were still alive, I know I
could call on him for these same answers. He favorite line was, "you have to
keep reading!" I do read first, but it's not always clear. So for that
reason, I thank you all for being here and helping everyone, everyday!

Apparently this image does not exist within your website.

What is store1yming.com? ... dunno. Are you pulliing these images from
another website?
Are you copying links to images and using that for your images?...thats a
no-no.
