PID Not Working

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Whenever I try to enter my PID, the setup assistant doesn't respond. I'll push continue, and it won't say anything. When I tried changing the number, it told me it was invalid, but when using the correct PID, it doesn't give me any type of error message, it just does nothing.. Can someone please help?

I've not heard of this problem before.

Do you have a second Mac OS X user account or can you make a second one
(Apple menu --> System Preferences... --> Accounts) and then enter the
PID under that account?

If that works then you should be able to switch back to your first Mac
OS X user account and use Office.

Hope this helps!

I bought my macbook off ebay, and the person who sold it had Office 2008 pre-installed on it so I don't have the box or the CDs. The person did send me the PID however...

That still didn't work.. Could it be that the person who sold me the computer is using the code as well? If that was the case though, wouldn't there be an error message telling me that the number was already in use?

I suspect the seller is sending you the *product ID*, which is different
from the *product key*, and that is what you need. Unfortunately, if you
don't have the packaging that includes the license agreement and the
product key, then you don't own Office and you can't legally use it.

Office for Mac can be legally transferred to another user *once* but you
must receive all the licensing information (the packaging and its
contents). If your purchase was suppose to also included Office 2008
then contact the seller and request he send you the packaging, installer
disk and the product key.

Hope this helps!
