Pie Chart Legend

Jeff

Hello all,

Does anyone know how to get the percent to show in the
legend rather than next to the pie? It sounds simple
enough, but Word doesn't seem to give that option (at
least not in 97 and 2000). Otherwise, does any else know
of any software that will do this?

Thank you,
Jeff

It would have to be part of the text from which the legend
is generated... Are you creating an Excel chart, or an MS
Graph chart? And where is the data coming from?

Hi Cindy,

Thanks for responding. I'm am using MS Graph and I am
manually typing the data in. If it's possible to link in
the data from Excel or Access I would be willing to do
that if pointed in the right direction.

Also, not to be picky, but if you were looking at the
graph from left to right, would it be Pie, x%, Legend
Key/box, Legend Entry/label or would it be Pie, Legend
Key/box, x%, Legend Entry/label (I was hoping to have the
percent show up between the pie and the box with the label
to the right of the box).

Finally, (OK, I know I'm getting greedy), do you know of
any keystrokes to move the objects in the graph (like Ctrl
+ arrow keys, etc.) instead of using the mouse.

Thank you so much,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Hmmm, from your "wish list", I'd say you'd be best off using
Insert/Object/Microsoft Office Excel chart. That's a bit
"heavier" as far as file size goes, but you get all the
advantages the Excel interface for the chart engine offers.
MS Graph and Excel use the same engine to actually generate
the chart, but the MS Graph interface is much "lighter".

Then you can go with your very specific questions to the
appropriate Excel newsgroup :)
