Pie charts not working

L

LisaK

In PP07, the 2D pie charts that have been cut/pasted into a presentation (not
linked) are not working in the show portion of the presentation. The charts
use various colors in the pie slices in the presentation, but when running
the show, the pies become one color. I tested the pies as 3D and there is no
problem - all the colors of the slices are there. Does anyone know why we're
having this problem? We're running them on Vista.

Thank you,
Lisa

Hmm, not heard of that one before. Does this happen to just one chart or
several? Just one file? Just one computer? To new charts/files or only
existing ones?

If this is the only problem file see if this helps:

It's a bug. One of your data points is 0, right? Either remove it or use a
3D pie that's rotated and angled to look like a 2D pie.

It's happening to all 2D pie charts in this one presentation, as far as I
know. I've never seen it belore, either. It has now happened on 4
computers. There are exisitnig charts. Thanks. I'll review the link.

It happens on 3 charts - all 2D pie charts. They are exisitng charts in one
file - it's been passed on to me to try to resolve. It's happened on 5
machines. I tried the round-tripping, but when i reopen the doc in PP, I get
a message that says there's missing information. I've tried the procedure
several times. Any other ideas would be helpful.

You know I've never been able to repro that one...

Did you see Echo's reply about the data point with zero as a value? And her
suggestion to make them 3d but then format them to look like 2d?

At this point, I would probably recreate the presentation - it gets to a
point where troubleshooting takes more time than starting from scratch...
Start with a blank presentation, bring in the unaffected slides, recreate
the pie charts.

I tried the round-tripping again by creating a doc with just those 3 slides
and going through the process. That did work. Then I cup/pasted those
slides back into the original presentation and that worked as well.

While this does work, it's too much of a process for the individuals at the
company to use. Management is not seeing this as a viable solution for a
problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. Hope there's something else.

Thank you.

Hm. It doesn't repro for me today (of course). Wonder if it was fixed in
SP2?
