Pivot Charts and/or Pivot Tables

I have 3 columns:

Date time reading

2/16/2007 5:00 p.m. 169
2/17/2007 8:00 a.m. 117
2/18/2007 5:00 p.m. 144
2/19/2007 8:00 a.m. 148
2/20/2007 5:00 p.m. 141
2/21/2007 5:30 p.m. 139

I would like to make them into a Pivot Chart with Date & Time as the
X-axis of a LINE CHART and Reading column as the Y-axis.

I tried clicking on the Form with the table in the appropriate box and
Clicking on Pivot Table or Pivot Chart then getting the form on which
To place the field names.

I may be thick or something, but I can’t for the life of me figure
out where to put the field names for the 3 data columns. I’m terrible
at reading directions and need something more explicit
