Pivot Table Calculated Field Problem

H

headly

I am having the following problem: Take 10 rows of data, which includes
columns for price, quantity and total (price*qty); When I look at the data
with subtotals I get one set of Grand Totals, but when I use a calculated
field to generate 'total' using price * qty, the pivot table answer is 3x
larger than it should be. Ideas? TY

If you use a calculated field, it will multiply the sum of price by the
sum of quantity, giving you an incorrect answer. It's better to use the
total field that's calculated in your source data.
