Pivot Table Calculation

Hello,
I have a spreadsheet based on the following columns...
UserID
Compliant
Non-Compliant

I am trying to create a Pivot table and within the table I have each
person's UserID listed in the Row field. In the data field I would like to
list both Compliant and Non-Compliant data so that it counts how many times
the person was compliant and how many times they were not. The main
spreadsheet consists of a Compliant column and a Non-Compliant column. The
problem is that there is text listed in ALL rows whether the person was
compliant or not. So when the Pivot Table calculates it calculates
everything and both Compliant and Non-Compliant fields calculate to the same
number. Is there a formula or a way I can tell the Pivot Table to only
calculate the items in the Compliant field which is listed "Compliant" and
only calculate the items in the Non-Compliant field which is listed as
"Non-Compliant"?

Example:
Even though the first one is compliant, there is text listed in the
Non-Compliant field. Also, when the person was Non-Compliant it lists this
in both columns. So each calculation within the pivot table is coming up with
the same exact number because it is counting everything.

COMPLIANT NON-COMPLIANT
Compliant Exact ticket already exists for the same client
Non-Compliant Non-Compliant

I hope this make sense
Thanks

Hi Lori

Since your Compliant column seems to contain both Compliant and
Non-Compliant as items, then you need to just use
Names in the Row area
Compliant in the Columns area
and Compliant again in the Data area as Count of Compliant.
