Pivot table -countif

Hi,

I would like to ask if it is possible to customize formulas in PIVOT Tables.

I am analyzing an extensive set of information, mix of numbers and text,
from multiple (many) angles. I need to use the COUNTIF functions to achieve
one of the analyzes because with the count function data is not correct.
Basically I need to count only cells that contain data and only as a unit
even if the cell contain 4 for example.
I use Microsoft 2008 for mac
