I'm working with a very large Pivot Table connected to an
external database. If I try to add a second row
dimension, it gives me the usual "Calculating Pivot Table
Report" message and progress bar in the lower left, and
then gives up, without doing anything. There's no error
message (i.e., "Not enough Memory", "Too many rows to
display". etc.). Evidently, it's running out of resources
or hitting some limit, but looks like a bug to me, since
it should at least display some error/warning/info
message. When I retrieve fewer records than are in the
external table, it behaves properly. Anyone else see
this? I'm using Excel 2002 and am thinking of trying 2003
if it will use more resources. Would also like to see an
option of displaying more than 65,536 rows one of these
days... There are plenty of times where this would come
in handy, believe it or not!
