Pivot table help Access 2002

Good evening,

I am attempting to use the pivot table for a query, I hope that is worded
correctly.

I have the row and column headings that seem to be correct. When I add to
the data (center portion of table) it shows the data. How do I select the
count function instead?

if you right click on the filed you want to have a count of you can choose
field properties, here you can select count, average, sum max, min, ...
