Pivot table- how to group according to month/day, rather than bythe minute

Greetings,

I'm trying to create a pivot table to organize data according to date.
Although I've set the format of the dates to be month/day (1/28, for
example), whenever I create the pivot table, it always ends up being
grouped by the hour and minute (which are included in the dates, but not
visable in the column, due to the formatting), so I end up with a row
for each value in the column. How can I force Excel to group according
to the month/day? In other words, to see 1/28/04 8:23:23 and 1/28/04
8:24:24 as the same value?

Thanks,

Stefan

Ctrl-click in the date/time column, choose Group. Select Day in the
Grouping dialog.

JE,

When you say date/time column, are you referring to the column in the
completed pivot table? When I do this, I get this error: "Cannot group
that selection"

Thanks,

Stefan
