Pivot Table Problem

Dear Microsoft

I am currently using Excel 2000. today I wanted to create a Pivot table from a set of datas. These datas have been taken from Sage and put into the excel spreadsheet and then turned into a Pivot table. Recently we have started using the latest version of Sage and today i took the latest data from Sage and put it into Excel to be turned into a Pivot table. My problem starts when the data for this year is entered. When the the Pivot table is created, the data for the 2004 part is placed on the next line duplicating each row twice. (By the way, the Date part is in the Column section of the Pivot Table.) That means that when the data for 2004 is supposed to come up it does not appear in the date row on the first line , instead in appears in the second line. This is causes the data to duplicate twice and is quite troublesome. Would anybody know how to rectify this problem. Thanks
