Have a data table consisting of 36 columns and rows that
vary in quantity from 13000 to 19000 rows. From this
table, there are 3 pivot tables to give you the ability to
see things from a high level, ex- balloons, horns, etc.,
to at an item level, ex- red balloons, green, etc. Have
been using this table and corresponding pivot tables for
nearly 2 years with no problems in both excel 97 until
recently switching to excel 2000. Last week, the reporting
consisted of 13,600 rows, and this week the addition of
additional items resulted in 18,600 rows of data. The
first table at the high level calculates with no problems,
but when the table showing each item starts to calculate,
it initially asks to " Do you want to replace the cell
contents ," followed by the " Run-time error '1004', there
are too many row or column items. Drag at least one row or
column field off the Pivot Table, or to the page position.
Alternatively, right click a field, and then click Hide or
Hide Levels on the shortcut menu ." I went to the table
and deleted all rows and columns outside the table, but
the same error message. I attempted to remove some of the
objects in the table, but the same error message. I have
other tables with more than 25000 rows/35 colums of
information that perform flawlessly. This grouping is
smaller, and it is not logical for this to be happening. I
have attempted to remove some of the objects, but the same
scenario is playing out. Reducing the fields and rows is
not an option. Please help!
